MICHAEL PARKINSON – 87
Michael Parkinson is a well known English broadcaster, journalist and author who presented his television talk show Parkinson and other talk shows of international repute. The Guardian has described Parkinson as the great British talk show host. He began his career as a journalist in local newspapers after leaving school. Parkinson worked as a feature writer for the Manchester Guardian and Daily Express.
He gave the keynote address in Sydney on Australia Day and was the first non-Australian. In 2014, Parkinson was one of 200 public figures signatories to a letter to The Guardian expressing their hope that Scotland would vote to remain part of the United Kingdom.
