Jimmy Carter – Age 98

Currently being the earliest-serving, living former President of the U.S., Carter served as a Georgia State Senator prior to being the 39th President. Carter was in the U.S. Navy and returned home to his peanut-farming inheritance after his father died. Motivated to support the civil rights movement, Carter became a Democratic Party activist. He defeated Gerald Ford in a close election and was in office from 1977 until 1981. During his time as President, Carter established two new departments, for Energy and Education. In 2002, he won a Nobel Peace Prize for co-founding the Carter Center and remained active in various charitable and human-rights organizations.

Marilyn Knowlden – Age 96

Marilyn Knowlden is a former child actress, active from 1931 to 1944. She was born in Oakland, California, in 1926 and at the age of four, Marilyn already made her acting debut on Women Love Once. During her 13-year-long career, Marilyn appeared in 40 movies, alongside stars like Humphrey Bogart, Shirley Temple, Katharine Hepburn, and many others. After quitting acting in 1944, Marilyn pursued her education and majored in music and drama in Mills College. She married Richard Goates, a WWII Army Captain, and became an accomplished playwright, songwriter, and musician. Marilyn returned to stage acting at the age of 70, and in 2011 published an autobiography – Little Girl in Big Pictures.

John Astin – Age 92

John Astin is most recognized as Gomez Addams from The Addams Family television series from the ‘60s and he reprised that role in some later installments of the franchise. For his directorial debut on Prelude, Astin was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Live Action Short Film category. His other notable performances in movies include West Side Story, Freaky Friday, Teen Wolf Too, The Frighteners, and many others. John Astin is currently an acting and directing teacher at Johns Hopkins University and, in 2018, he voiced Captain Bamboozle on Justice League Action TV series.

Loretta Lynn – Age 90

With almost 60 years in the music business, Loretta Lynn needs no special introduction as she had multiple gold country music albums and many famous hits. Songs like You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man), First City, Don’t Come Home A’ Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ On Your Mind) are only some of her hits. Loretta won the Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association awards. As far as retirement planning goes, Lynn and her late husband bought a multitude of homes, with her ranch being Tennessee’s ‘7th Largest Attraction’ as it hosts motocross races occasionally, features a music studio, lodgings, and more. Lynn often greets her fans herself.

Richard Chamberlain – 88

Richard Chamberlain stole the hearts of many with his impressive performance as Ralph de Bricassart in the popular mini-series, The Thornbirds. Upon the end of the mini-series, he went on to play a variety of roles and showed no desire for early retirement. While he is widely recognized for his film acting, he is rather passionate about stage acting and has actually starred in a number of productions like Spamalot and My Fair Lady. He currently lives in LA, since 2010. He recently appeared in The Black Ghiandola.
