1969 – Sam Elliott Excitedly Makes His Debut On Screen
After a couple of years of unsuccessful auditions, Elliott snagged his first role in 1969. He appeared in an episode of the TV show Judd For The Defense. This was a show characterized by tackling taboo subjects in the form of court cases all over the United States.
Furthermore, Sam made it into his first movie. With a very small role, he appeared in the iconic Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid. He also made his first appearance on the show Lancer, in which he later had a recurring role and was invited twice more.
