To find what you seek in the road of life, the best proverb of all is that which says: “Leave no stone unturned.” – Edward Bulwer Lytton
It is said that your mind is the master of everything and heavily influences how you see the world. If your thoughts are full of vigor and optimism, you feel invincible and strong enough to take down any challenge. However, if they are clouded with nothing but sadness and sorrow, your determination and willpower to achieve your dreams come tumbling down.
It is not easy to gather all the willpower and hope to continue living life to the fullest. However, before you give up, take some time and read this post as it may inspire you to keep going. We provide you some unconventional yet effective ways make you mentally stronger to be able to face whatever challenges life may throw your way.
Stop Avoiding Your Problems, Acknowledge them
When you are facing a big problem, your defense mechanism kicks in, and all you want to do is to forget the problem. You cannot be blamed for this because sometimes it helps to take an escape from the reality.
However, if you keep on avoiding the problem, rest assured that you are on your way to your downfall. Avoiding that problem is just a temporary solution and you ned to find a permanent one. Therefore, tackle that challenge head on. First, acknowledge that it exists and find its root cause. And when you do, you are ready to take the next step.
Break It Down
If you tackle the problem as a whole, you may feel overwhelmed. Instead, break it into smaller, manageable segment and handle one after the other. That way, the burden will seem less. In this way, the burden and load of stress are manageable. Before you realize it, you will have solved the entire problem!
Take a Break
Sometimes, it helps to take a break from solving your problems to relax. A break revitalizes your mind, body, and soul for you to be able to keep going at what you’re doing. Yoga and Zen are highly recommended. You can also make use of a stress ball, breathe in and out, hop on one leg in private, or do whatever it takes to relax. Don’t be part of the problem, but be the solution instead. Use the 4x4x4 breathing technique that is used by the Navy seals, the toughest bunch there ever is; breathe in for 4 seconds, breathe out for 4 seconds, and continue to do this for 4 minutes.
Are you feeling better and energized now? Good. You can now get back to work.
Count Your Blessings
Avoid focusing too much on your problems. We understand that you feel as if the whole universe is against you, but you are not the only person encountering problems.
Therefore, don’t be tempted to think that the world has transpired against you.Do you even realize how blessed and privileged you are to be alive? Instead of being depressed over a problem, remind yourself how blessed you are.
