He Burned Out – But Didn’t Fade Away…
Kurt Cobain’s chronic stomach pain was a continuous problem for him (despite seeing a doctor no doubt) and managing the pain led to his frequent use of heroin, as we have mentioned. The fact that the cause of the pain couldn’t be determined meant that Cobain simply had to suffer through it, as he would, of course, become resistant to any pain medication that he would take constantly. With time, the condition worsened and Cobain actually made reference to this stomach pain in his suicide note when he thanked his fans from the pit of his ‘burning, nauseous stomach’ for their letters and their concern over the years.
