Family is the most important thing in life, especially when you are a child. Without the guidance of your parents, you wouldn’t have become the adult you are today. But what if you found out that your entire childhood was a lie? This is what Steve Carter Jr., who was adopted when he was three had to deal with. At some point, he knew that the people who raised him weren’t his birth parents, but he still wanted to know more about his biological parents. Sadly, his curiosity eventually uncovered a very unsettling truth…
It Was Love at First Sight
In 1980, Steve Carter, a U.S Army officer, was stationed in Oahu, Hawaii and living with his wife, Pat. It was then when they decided they wanted to adopt a child. They were smitten by a three-and-a-half-year-old kid named Tenzin Amea, who was in foster care on the island. Born in January 1977, Tenzin was already in the state’s care for three years. Steve and Pat revealed that the moment they saw him, they felt it was love at first sight, and adopted him in the fall of 1980, once the paperwork was over and done with.
