Sidney Poitier 1964 Vs. 2014
Sidney Poitier has been an iconic actor both in Hollywood and for the Bahamian-American community. He was the first black actor to receive a Best Actor Academy Award, in 1964, and he celebrated it by wearing a white bow tie and an elegant black coat. Fifty years later, the red carpet welcomed him once more, this time, as he was accompanied by his daughter Sydney Tamiia Poitier, where he wore almost the same outfit but with a black bow tie. His iconic role in Lilies of The Field was just the beginning of a movie series mostly racial-themed, raising awareness about black rights in America. At the same time, his personal finance exploded, reaching $25 million.
