First Issue of ‘Playboy’ Magazine

In 1953, Hugh Hefner released the first issue of the renowned Playboy Magazine, though he never expected he’d have such huge earnings from his publication. There were originally just 54,000 copies of the first issue, and they were instantly purchased by the American people, especially as the legendary feminine symbol, Marilyn Monroe, was on its front cover. Someone brought one of the original copies to Rick, and he knew that he shouldn’t drop the chance of owning such a classic. Though the owner originally demanded $2K, Rick bought it for $1.4K, and that sure isn’t a little money for a magazine issue.
A fairly low price for such an Award
